  • Leaving a Legacy of Stories: Passing Wisdom Across Generations

    In this workshop, Professor Duke will review the research that demonstrates that not only is knowledge of one’s family history interesting and enlightening, but it is also among the most important things that older generations can pass on. This is because we now know that knowledge of family history is associated with increased levels of resilience, higher levels of self-esteem, better psychological adjustment, and the development of a moral compass that helps people in their journey throughout life.

  • Liminal Times and Conscious Eldering: Navigating Life’s In-between Spaces

    Grounded in the principles of Conscious Eldering, this engaging and reflective four-part workshop explores the dynamics of aging through the lens of liminality, the threshold between what was and what is becoming. Participants will examine how transitions, uncertainty, loss, growth, and renewal shape the eldering journey, while discovering practical tools for finding purpose, resilience, and creativity in times of change

  • In the Calm of Qigong: Reflecting on the Qualities of a Sage

    In this 5-session series, we will use the meditative practice of Qigong (pronounced chee gong) to explore the 10 Qualities of a Sage that SI has identified. Each session will include 45–50 minutes of gentle Qigong practice, followed by a thoughtful discussion of how these qualities can enrich our lives and how we can cultivate and express them more fully in our everyday interactions.

  • Deepening the Sage Within (In person in Boulder, CO)

    In his 1995 book From Age-ing to Sage-ing, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, the most influential Jewish change-maker of his generation, created a new way of looking at aging in the second half of life called “Sage-ing.” Instead of seeing this stage of life as a time of loss and diminishment, Sage-ing affirms the importance of aging as a time for deep reflection, continued learning, and spiritual growth.
