Ruby is a practicing Western-convert Buddhist, a graduate of Spirit Rock Meditation Center’s Dedicated Practitioner and Community Dharma Leader programs, and completed training as a Buddhist chaplain and ordained as a lay Buddhist minister in 2014. She has dedicated her life to service, including serving as a hospice volunteer, volunteer chaplain in health care and carceral facilities, and Dharma leader. She has facilitated and co-facilitated Year to Live groups for the past several years and has led Buddhist practice and meditation groups for elders, prisoners and women. She has also served on and led the Boards of Directors for a variety of nonprofit organizations and is currently serving on the Coordinating Circle of Sage-ing International.
