The Art and Experience of Writing Mystical Poetry

This 90-minute, interactive, three-session workshop will give participants an experience of mystical poetry and, in the process, describe the essential elements of mystical experience. To that end, we will be exploring the mystical nature of God, reality, aging, and activism.

Regret: The Ghost of Aging (Part of the Spiritual Aging Series)

The Year of Reflection is based on the weekly readings taken from "Spiritual Aging: Weekly Reflections for Embracing Life." The focus for this month's webinar coincides with this particular week's reading: We consider the possibility that just as you need to forgive life for your disappointments, so it is that you are faced with the spiritual challenge of forgiving yourself. SASS groups will build on his foundation moving through the month addressing a diverse series of topics based on each week's reflection.

Embracing the Power of Forgiveness: Unlock a Life of Freedom and Compassion

Join us on a transformative journey as we explore the profound concept of forgiveness, a cornerstone of the Sage-ing Movement. This workshop is a unique opportunity to liberate yourself from the weight of painful experiences and discover a more compassionate, loving, and wise version of yourself.

Creating Our Generational Legacy

For many of us in our 60s, 70s and 80s the state of the world causes us great concern. Whether it be climate change, democracy, growing inequity, or any number of issues – this is not the world we want for those we love – yet this is our generational legacy. In this webinar, we will apply Joanna Macy’s teachings of “Active Hope,” to look at our despair and concerns, discern the future we want for those we love, and discover the power of constructive, collaborative action.

An Introduction to Contemplative Photography

This course will focus on the basic elements of photography within a contemplative photography framework. These photographic elements are: light, color, space, and patterns/textures. Between sessions, participants will take and share photos focusing on each of these four elements. For this course, participants can use the camera on their smartphones or a camera. No prior skill in photography is necessary.

Unlocking Your Purpose

This series is based on the 4th Edition of the book, The Power of Purpose, written by Richard Leider and David Shapiro. Using a highly interactive format, Richard and Gary will invite participants to explore the role of purpose in their lives.

Spiritual Aging: Joy in Reflections

The Year of Reflection series is based on weekly readings. The focus for this month’s webinar, coinciding with this particular week’s reading: We explore both the costs and gifts of leaving old masks behind and making the choice to live authentically.

Shadow Work for Concious Relationships in Later Life

It’s never too late to create more authentic relationships. This interactive presentation about shadow work explores how the unconscious erupts in our lives and sabotages our relationships in repetitive arguments, criticism, distancing, projections, addictions, and life transitions, such as retirement, illness, and loss. It explains why the shadow forms in childhood, how to detect it when it emerges, and how to use this practice to make a conscious relationship with it and choose different outcomes. We will explore three examples in depth, including times for self-reflection.

Whether you do your eldering work alone or in socialized settings at workshops and meditation retreats, or through solo meditation and journal writing, remember that the work of integrating body, mind, and soul requires time and commitment…you can begin shaping your life into a noble masterpiece.”
