After two organizational meetings late in 2012, we have met every first Sunday of the month since March 2013 at the Silver Sage Senior Co-Housing Common House in North Boulder. Our meetings so far this year have included the From Age-ing to Sage-ing exercise “A Testimonial Dinner for Severe Teachers” led by co-facilitator, Rosemary Lohndorf; “Overcoming the Seven Deadly Obstacles to Dying in Peace,” a presentation by Bart Windrum; and a “Review of 2013 and Setting Intentions for 2014” with Rosemary Lohndorf.
We also received grants from Sage-ing International to sponsor one-day workshops with David Chernikoff on “Awakened Aging: Cultivating A Wise Heart,” on Saturdays in April 2012 and 2013. On Saturday 15 March 2014, we co-sponsored a pilot presentation by Rosemary Williams and Maureen Dobson of “Awakening the Sage Within,” the new SI Signature program.
Scheduled for this spring and summer, we look forward to exploring the new SI document “Qualities of Sages in Service” and composing a group thank you to Reb Zalman, facilitated by Deborah Windrum. We will view the videotape of an interview with Reb Zalman about his current hero’s journey in a meeting facilitated by Rohini Kanniganti, a family physician practicing geriatric medicine. We will also explore creativity with sculptor Elsie Wood, “Gifting Your Life Bounty” with Deborah Windrum, and change and the age-ing process with Jack Williamson.
