Creative Expression Series

At the Soul of Creative Expression – a way of life

See below for days and time

Please join Marilyn Loy Every, DMin, CSL (Certified Sage-ing Leader) in exploring fertile possibilities at the soul of creative expression. While considering art as a “personal companion,” this series offers opportunities to liberate creative potential; hence enlivening, healing, and adding beauty to your life.

Some may think that creative expression first requires a clear calling and natural talent—whether writing, poetry, painting, dance, photography, or gardening, to name a few of the many mediums. This is true; yet, not in all cases. After years of life experience regardless of profession, occupation, or vocation, intentionally opening oneself to the present potential of one’s creativity is fascinating and enthralling.

The intention of this series is to explore and envision what lives at the soul of your creative longing and to carry it forward as a spiritual practice and a way of life. You will learn to view creative expression as a portal to:

  • deepening relationship with yourself through renewal of self-discovery, trust and devotion;
  • providing a gateway to offer your uniqueness like no other in the world;
  • allowing time to pause and immerse yourself in a mystical experience of creativity;
  • expanding your experience with the Sacred or whatever it is that describes “something greater” than oneself;
  • affording a vision to go wherever the creative call leads you.

While we will learn from poets, storytellers, and artists, and be inspired through reflective exercises, we will mostly be dazzled by the flow of creativity in one another.

This series is for all experience levels—from those who are simply curious, active in their artistic discovery or rediscovery, or those seasoned in their creative expertise. This offering is limited to 18 devoted attendees. There will be six sessions altogether to follow the creative manifestations that will be emerging as each attendee unearths and expands their unique and novel creative expression.

At the end of the series, there will be an optional opportunity to continue as a Creative Expressions Wisdom Circle gathering every month for six months at no additional cost.

Whether you do your eldering work alone or in socialized settings at workshops and meditation retreats, or through solo meditation and journal writing, remember that the work of integrating body, mind, and soul requires time and commitment…you can begin shaping your life into a noble masterpiece.”

 – Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi

To support you on what Reb Zalman refers to as “this pioneering journey into your unmapped potential,” whether you are young or old, Sage-ing® International offers 3 categories of educational programs, each with its own unique flavor.

The Signature Programs

serve as an excellent introduction to sage-ing’s core topics (Images of Aging, Life Review, Forgiveness, Facing Mortality, Legacy, and Service).  They provide the tools and resources needed to explore the aging years in order to navigate the second half of life with greater understanding and purpose.

The World Wisdom Programs

allow participants to explore cultural traditions and perspectives across the globe on aging and spirituality to deepen their understanding of their own aging years and to enhance their “Sage-ing tool-box.”

The Enrichment Programs

supplement and broaden SI’s range of educational opportunities by inviting guest presenters who are accomplished authors, innovators, Sage-ing® Leaders and other creative professionals, to facilitate workshops and webinars that reflect their areas of study and mastery of topics related to aging more consciously.
